The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) plays a significant role in Pakistan by providing financial assistance to eligible individuals through the Kafalat Monthly Payment initiative. Starting in 2024, the monthly aid amount of Rs 10,500 will be increased by Rs 3,000. Previously, beneficiaries collected their payments from Campsites or retail outlets. Now, BISP has enhanced its payment system, allowing beneficiaries to withdraw funds from ATMs operated by six designated banks.

Empowering Families through Benazir Kafalat Payments via Banks

BISP aims to support underprivileged families by offering Kafalat Monthly Payments, enabling women to receive skill training to become providers for their households and ensuring children’s educational needs are met adequately.

The government currently disperses Rs 10,500 to eligible families every three months, with plans to increase this amount to Rs 12,500 by January 2025. Over 9.3 million families have already benefited from the program, with a goal of reaching 10 million families in the near future. To streamline operations, the number of banks facilitating BISP Kafaalat installment withdrawals in Punjab has been increased.
