1st Phase Distribution of 40,000 Kisan Cards Commences:
The Chief Minister of Punjab initiated the distribution of Kisan Cards to registered individuals on 10th September 2024. In this initial phase, 40,000 cards will be distributed to farmers, who can start utilizing them after 15th October. Over the next year, approximately five lakh farmers are expected to benefit from the Kisan card. Starting from the middle of the following month, farmers will be able to use the Kisan Cards for wheat crops.
The Kisan Card Scheme aims to provide interest-free agricultural loans to small farmers, making it easier for them to procure essential items such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
How to Apply Online for CM Kisan Card:
- Create a mobile account (MA) or wallet (MV).
- Purchase Kisan Tokens available for Rs 500.
- Complete the application process at the Tehsil Office.
- Submit the necessary paperwork.
- Receive a confirmation SMS upon submission.
- Collect your Kisan Card from the Tehsil.
Registering for Kisan Card at Tehsil Offices:
- Visit the agriculture center in your district.
- Discuss your requirements with the agriculture office staff.
- Provide the necessary documents if requested.
- Receive your Kisan Card once the documents are submitted.
Application Via SMS:
Another way to apply for the Punjab Kisan Card is by sending an SMS.
- Open your mobile messenger.

- Ensure adequate balance to send the SMS to 8070.
- You will receive a confirmation text if eligible.
- Collect the co-branded Kisan Card from the agriculture tehsil office within 15 to 20 days.
Eligibility Criteria for CM Kisan Card:
- The farmer must own at least 12.5 acres of land.
- Farmers need to have a mobile SIM registered under their CNIC.
- Applicant’s ID card information will be verified by the government using NADRA data.
- Land records available in PLRA will make farmers eligible for a loan.
- Timely monthly payments on the interest-free loan can make farmers eligible for another loan after six months.
- Farmers will undergo digital verification through the Farmers Registration Database maintained by PITB.
Loans of Over Rs 150,000 Available Through Kisan Cards:
The Punjab government’s Kisan Card Program aims to benefit 0.5 million farmers, offering loans ranging from PKR 30,000 to PKR 150,000 per acre to enhance agricultural activities and increase profitability.
Approval of Agricultural Mall Pilot Project:
The Chief Minister approved the Agricultural Mall Pilot Project in Sargodha, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, and Okara, where farmers can access pesticides, crop medicines, fertilizer, and other agricultural supplies. Additionally, the CM Green Tractor Scheme will provide 10,000 tractors to farmers.
