Under the scheme, the Punjab government will bear 90% of the solar system cost, allowing customers a 5-year period to settle the remaining 10%. Eligible households can acquire solar panels in user-friendly installments. The administration has emphasized keeping down payments and monthly installments minimal.

How to Register for the Free Solar Scheme

To participate in the Roshan Gharana scheme and receive free solar panels, interested individuals must register themselves. The registration process, introduced by the Punjab Chief Minister, is simple and can be completed from the comfort of one’s home. Requirements include a mobile phone and a registered mobile number in the applicant’s name. To register, send your correct National Identity Card number via SMS to 8800.

After verifying the applicant’s electricity usage history, free solar systems will be provided to qualifying individuals. Customers consuming over 500 units of electricity will have the opportunity to obtain solar panels through easy installment plans.
