The Punjab Government has recently kicked off its Free Wi-Fi Project in Kasur, aiming to provide complimentary internet access across various locations in the district. This initiative specifically targets enhancing safety measures for women. In today’s digital age, internet connectivity has become a necessity for all individuals, ensuring accessibility while on the go or away from home. The primary focus of this project is to create a secure environment, particularly for women.

Ensuring data security for Wi-Fi users, Maryam Nawaz assured a seamless experience while using this service. Launched on May 2 from Lahore, the project has already established free Wi-Fi services at approximately 100 spots within the city. The Chief Minister of Punjab announced plans to expand this project rapidly to encompass both major cities and remote towns throughout the region. The network will emphasize public safety and undergo rigorous monitoring protocols.

Designated Areas Featuring Free Wi-Fi Services

Ten prime locations have been chosen in Kasur to offer free Wi-Fi access, including DHQ Main Gate, Model Bazar, Government College for Women, and National Bank Chowk. Other Wi-Fi spots cover the New Bus Terminal, DC Office Kasur Garden, Driver Hotel Railway Station, and Railway Road Chowk.

Additional plans include extending free Wi-Fi services to government institutions, airports, hospitals, colleges, and universities. Currently limited to ten spots in Kasur, Maryam Nawaz affirmed efforts to scale up the project across all districts.

Simple Guidelines for Accessing Free Citizen Wi-Fi Service

Utilizing the Chief Minister Punjab’s complimentary Wi-Fi service is straightforward for all users. Initially deployed at 100 sites in Lahore, free Wi-Fi devices provide seamless connectivity. The network has expanded from 100 to 200 access points, with recent additions in Kasur. Users can leverage this service for emergency communication with law enforcement or family members.

The Wi-Fi devices offer coverage within a 300-feet radius. To access the service, individuals need to enable Wi-Fi on their devices, select CM Maryam Nawaz’s network from the available options, and seamlessly connect to the provincial Wi-Fi service for uninterrupted browsing.

Who Can Enjoy the Benefits of Free Wi-Fi Service

The Free Wi-Fi initiative has now reached Kasur, extending its benefits to all residents and visitors in the district. Individuals from neighboring cities can also make use of this service without any specific eligibility criteria. Maryam Nawaz emphasized that this service is open to citizens from all regions of Pakistan upon reaching a Wi-Fi enabled location.
