The Punjab government proudly introduces a revolutionary initiative, the Roshan Gharana program, spearheaded by Chief Minister Punjab, Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif. This program aims to provide economical electricity to the residents of Punjab through the provision of solar panels. Consumers falling within the 50 to 500 electricity unit bracket can now acquire solar panels through convenient installments, thanks to this remarkable initiative. Initially announced during the inauguration ceremony, the offer includes free solar panels for consumers utilizing up to 200 units of electricity.

Ms. Maryam Nawaz emphasized the impact of inflation on both underprivileged and middle-class citizens, prompting the introduction of the Roshan Gharana program to alleviate their electricity cost burden. Under this scheme, consumers using up to 500 units will receive solar systems with the Punjab government covering approximately 90% of the total cost, leaving only a 10% payment requirement on the customers’ end. This supportive program has been designed specifically to assist low-income families in accessing sustainable energy solutions.

Ms. Maryam Nawaz assured that consumers in Punjab using up to 500 electricity units can now acquire solar panels through easy five-year installments. The monthly installment plans have been carefully structured to ensure minimal financial strain on the users.

With the Punjab government generously covering 90% of the solar panel costs for consumers up to 500 units, customers are only required to contribute 10% of the total amount. They have a five-year period to fulfill this 10% payment requirement.

Ms. Maryam Nawaz highlighted the program’s flexibility in adjusting the electricity ratio provided by the government versus the solar system based on consumers’ requirements. This initiative aims to combat the escalating electricity prices and address the ongoing electricity crisis in the country by transparently distributing solar panels to disadvantaged and impoverished families. Significant positive changes are anticipated in Punjab following five years of implementation of this program.

Who Qualifies for Solar Panels at Easy Installments?

Residents of Punjab consuming up to 500 units of electricity are eligible for the installation of solar panels through manageable installments. Applicants must be Punjab residents, and their eligibility will be assessed upon application submission. Solar panels will be provided in easy installments to qualifying customers as per the eligibility criteria.

Ms. Maryam Nawaz confirmed that consumers using less than 500 units of electricity per month will receive free solar panels under this program. The primary objective is to alleviate the financial burden of expensive government electricity costs on impoverished individuals.
