Exciting news for academically talented students in Punjab as Chief Minister Ms. Maryam Nawaz introduces the Honahar Merit Scholarship Program aimed at supporting high-achieving individuals in pursuing advanced education. This initiative will cover 100% of the tuition fees for eligible candidates. Originally set to offer 4000 scholarships, the program’s scope has expanded significantly to accommodate 25000 scholarships under the recent directive from the Punjab Chief Minister.

The Eligibility Criteria for the Honahar Merit Scholarship Program
Students enrolled in both public and private educational institutions within Punjab are eligible to apply for the Honahar Merit Scholarship Program. While merit-based scholarships will be allocated to students in public institutions, students from eight private universities will also have the opportunity to qualify based on their merit.
It is important to note that only students hailing from Punjab are eligible for this program, excluding talents from other provinces. Candidates aspiring for the scholarship must hold a B.Sc. qualification, with scholarships awarded to those demonstrating exceptional academic performance in their B.Sc. studies.
Establishment of New Universities in Punjab
In a strategic move, Chief Minister of Punjab, Mrs. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has revealed plans for the establishment of new universities across eight districts in Punjab. This initiative aims to facilitate students in accessing higher education opportunities. The initial phase will witness the establishment of universities in Jhelum, Wahari, and Bahawalnagar, with immediate action mandated to kickstart the project.
