Great news for students in colleges and universities as the Chief Minister of Punjab gears up to kickstart the eagerly awaited 2nd Phase of the Electric Motorbikes Scheme. In the initial phase, a total of 20,000 motorbikes were allotted, with 19,000 being petrol-based and 1,000 fully electric. The first phase targeted students pursuing higher education, and the distribution has successfully concluded.

Insights from the First Phase
The first phase rolled out with 20,000 motorcycles allocated, comprising 19,000 fuel bikes and 1,000 electric variants. The government of Punjab is facilitating students with easy installment plans. Of the total distribution, 11,676 petrol motorcycles have already found their way to deserving students. This initiative also emphasizes gender equality with 7,324 petrol bikes specifically designated for female students.
Completion of the first phase saw 70% of the electric bikes distributed to male students and the remaining 30% to female students. Ms. Maryam Nawaz hinted at an expanded student inclusion in the upcoming phase.
Eligibility Criteria for Student Applicants
Ms. Maryam Nawaz underscored the successful enrollment of 20,000 students in the scheme. To widen its reach, the second phase will accommodate even more students. Eligibility requirements for interested candidates are:
- Age of 18 years or above.
- Active enrollment in a college or university.
- Possession of a valid National Identity Card.
- A valid motorcycle driving license.
- Prior participation in the first phase disqualifies applicants from the second phase.
- Residency in Punjab; students from other provinces are ineligible.
Application Process for the 2nd Phase
To enroll in the forthcoming phase of the Electric Motorbikes Scheme:

- Complete the registration by providing your full name, email, and NIC details.
- After successful registration, commence the application submission.
- Eligibility will be verified post-application, followed by bike allocation.
