In a progressive move, the Punjab government has launched a Free Wi-Fi Project in Kasur to provide complimentary internet services across various locations in the region. This initiative focuses on enhancing accessibility and security, particularly for women. Initiated on May 2nd from Lahore, this project has already extended free Wi-Fi services to approximately 100 spots in the city. The Chief Minister of Punjab emphasized that this project’s reach will soon cover both small and large cities within the province, creating a secure network closely monitored for public safety.
Designated Areas Providing Free Wi-Fi Access
The Free Wi-Fi service in Kasur covers ten strategic locations, including popular hubs like DHQ Main Gate, Model Bazar, Government College for Women, and National Bank Chowk, along with the New Bus Terminal, DC Office Kasur Garden, Driver Hotel Railway Station, and Railway Road Chowk.
Ms. Maryam Nawaz has announced plans to expand this service to government institutions, airports, hospitals, colleges, and universities beyond the initial ten sites in Kasur. The government is committed to bringing this project to fruition across all districts to benefit a broader population.
Simple Steps to Access Free Wi-Fi Service
Utilizing the Chief Minister Punjab’s free Wi-Fi is straightforward for all users. The project initially installed free Wi-Fi devices at 100 locations in Lahore, offering seamless connectivity. The network has now expanded to 200 points, including installations in Kasur. Ms. Maryam Nawaz highlighted the utility of this service for contacting authorities or family during emergencies.
The Wi-Fi signal covers an area of up to 300 feet from the source. To connect, users need to enable Wi-Fi on their devices, select CM Maryam Nawaz’s Wi-Fi service from the available network list, and access the internet at no cost, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity.
Who Can Benefit from the Free Wi-Fi Service?
The Free Wi-Fi service is open to all residents and visitors in Kasur, with no specific eligibility criteria. Individuals from other regions in Pakistan can also enjoy this service while within the Wi-Fi coverage area.
